1805: Owen became a homesteader and continued his tanning business in Ohio.
1816-1817: John failed the ministry in the East due to "failing eyesight and lack of funds".
1846: Is in the a sheep- raising business with Simon Perkins.
1849: The wool business fails when in England so he moved in hopes of helping a black homesteader community.
1842: Banruptcy was caused by financial struggles and land speculations
1855: went to Kansas to help anti-slavery forces
